What time? From 6.30pm

The Girls Brigade is a uniformed Christian Youth Organisation for girls, age of ranging from 3 to 18 years old. It is open to all denominations and backgrounds, and is designed to educate, challenge, and inspire young girls in an environment of Christian teaching.

Our Motto is "Seek, Serve and Follow Christ" and our GB Aim is

"to help girls to become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and through self control, reverence, and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment of life"

Badge
Our GB Badge is worn worldwide and it has four main elements:

• In the Centre a Cross, the symbol of Christ and His Church
• Below it a Lamp, that our light may shine out upon the world
• Above the Lamp is a Crown, that we may own Christ as our King
• Behind all a Torch, the flame of Christ's living Spirit and our devotion to Him

Programme
Our programme is split into four main sections:

• Spiritual
• Physical
• Educational
• Service

The girls work for their badge-work based on the above four headings. We meet on a Thursday evening from September to April, and this helps the girls escape form the pressures of everyday life and enjoy the fun and fellowship that we have to offer.  

Our Brigade Night consists of

• Opening Devotions
• Scripture
• PE and Skipping
• Crafts
• Drill and Marching
• Time left over for fun and games with Explorers, and fun and chat with the Senior Section.

Last Word
Our company has now been going 54 years. As our numbers have been quite low in recent years we decided to have a promotion campaign prior to the start of our '09/10 winter session and it is pleasing that we had some 33 girls in attendance at our second meeting on 18th September. The girls we have show great enthusiasm and dedication, so we would encourage any young girl to join this organisation. It's a great way of meeting new friends and learning about the Lord Jesus Christ.
